What exactly is a Weather Guarantee™?
It's an optional add-on at checkout that protects the experience of your trip. If conditions like rain or other frozen precipitation, reach the threshold shown during purchase, you're reimbursed for eligible parts of your reservation (often aligned to the daily rate for multi-day trips). Thresholds and amounts are clearly displayed when you buy. For example: For multi-day stays, reimbursement is typically calculated per day when the threshold is met. Want to learn more how it works? How it works—step by step
- Choose the Guarantee at checkout.
- Forecast monitoring, automatically. Each morning of your stay, Sensible Weather checks the forecast and will text/email you if your guarantee is met, prompting your reimbursement.
- Fast, direct payout. Sensible Weather pays you via ACH or PayPal; funds typically arrive in ~3–5 business days after you select the method.
- Observed-weather backup. If forecasts shift, Sensible also uses real-time radar/satellite to validate conditions, so you're covered.

How's the coverage triggered?
Precipitation of 1.5 mm/hour or more for 4+ hours will trigger the daily coverage. They'll alert you if bad weather is on the horizon.
